The 2011 Tapping World Summit ended last week. Since then, the Ortner production team of Nick, Jessica, and Alex, have had a lot of inquiries from people wondering how to mobilize the collective energies of the hundreds of thousands of people who participated in the summit to help with the tragedy in Japan. Nick Ortner has offered a positive way to do this. Our collective energies can make a difference, but Nick also believes that it’s vitally important to tap through our own responses to the tragedies we face in life.

Whether it be Japan, or the earthquake in New Zealand, or the ongoing challenges in Haiti, focusing on the negative isn’t going to help anyone. There’s only so much of watching the network news before it becomes counterproductive. I agree with Nick that unless we process and release our fears, our concerns, our stress, we can’t really be of much help and move forward in a positive direction to make a difference.

Nick is offering you two things for you to make that happen. The first is a very special audio from Jessica Ortner which is a short tap-along meditation (like her surrogate tapping one that everyone loves!) to help tap through some of what’s going on. The second offering is something more on the practical side. From the next few days, until Friday, March 18th, the Ortners are going to offer their excellent documentary film, The Tapping Solution film, for 50% off.

They were planning on doing this anyway as a post-summit celebration, because many people asked how they could get a copy of the film. This offer makes it a super price for you because the film only costs $15 (at half price). The cool part is that they’re going to donate 100% of gross sales until they hit their goal of $10,000 to support the relief efforts in Japan. If the response is good, they’ll look to raise more money! The funds will go to the Red Cross, unless they can find an organization that is doing specific trauma relief work, ideally with Tapping.

You can listen to Jessica’s audio here:

Jessica Ortner: Tapping for Japan

And you can see the trailer for The Tapping Solution film and pick up a copy at 50% off the regular price to support Japan by clicking here:

Save 50% on the Film When You Donate

If you were looking to donate funds to the efforts in Japan, now’s the time!

Ever feel annoyed at someone? The EFTzone focuses on using EFT to create positive results at work, in play and everday life. Although EFT can be very effective for deep emotional and physical issues, EFT is also superb for dealing with everyday feelings like being annoyed at someone.

Yesterday, I was working with a person who was extremely annoyed at a friend of hers. On a SUDs scale, she said it was a 20. I reminded her to use EFT. Within two rounds of EFT tapping, her feelings of annoyance changed from a six to a zero. So use EFT for everyday occurrences that may bother you.

Here’s a tool to help you. Although this YouTube video from Jean Chenai is for using EFT for annoying males, you can also change it to work with any person that annoys you. The instructions are simple. Say the phrases that pop up on your screen while you tap at the different EFT tappping points. Remember, you can change the phrases to match them to the “annoying person.”

When you do this, it’s important to really tune in to your annoying feelings. As you tap, they’ll start to melt away.

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S7gBdNDrOUo

Remember that you can use EFT for anything that upsets you. For example, sounds that bother you like the television being too loud, or the buzzing of the refrigerator, and visuals like the light in a room being too bright. Use EFT to comfort and calm you with everyday annoyances.

Brad Yates has a new book due out in a few days. It might just be a real game changer in empowering the next generation to achieve greater health, wealth and happiness. It all comes together in one of my favorite forms — a children’s book.

I first met Brad back in March of 2005 when I was attending one of Gary Craig’s EFT workshops. I was just starting the EFTzone and we met in Costa Mesa, California. Brad is very warm and personable. For a decade now, my friend, Brad Yates, has been working with folks to support them in creating the life they really want. He does this primarily by using EFT to tap away limiting beliefs about what they can be, do and have. These are beliefs that were mostly developed long ago from childhood experiences. (Note: Be sure to check out Brad Yate’s EFTzone Audio Spotlight and the free Brad Yates videos.)

In any event, Brad wondered what kids could grow up to be if they had EFT to clear emotional discomfort right when it shows up, long before it starts limiting their lives. Of course, if you just tell kids, “EFT is this thing that is good for you, so do it,” that sounds about as enticing as eating their vegetables. So Brad wanted to find a fun way of delivering this simple yet powerful tool of EFT to a younger audience, and the result is his new book, The Wizard’s Wish — Or, How He Made the Yuckies Go Away, A Story About the Magic in You.

Brad’s book has the things that kids of all ages enjoy: magic, fantasy, a happy ending, and even some cute pictures of animals, too. This bright and colorful, playfully illustrated storybook is as fun as it is helpful. The book artfully conveys the message that the key to the Law of Attraction is feeling good. Feeling good is our natural tendency, and children are better at it than adults because they aren’t carrying around as many reasons not to be. With the ability to quickly tap away “not so good” feelings, youngsters will naturally create more joyful and abundant lives for themselves. Of course, this benefits everyone.

Telling youngsters how to move through uncomfortable feelings with EFT isn’t the only positive message in the book. Other subjects touched on in the book that adults can discuss with kids include:

Love of learning and books.

Being in control of your own feelings.

Good things happen when you feel good (Law of Attraction).

Being helpful.

Compassion for others.

Appreciation of other cultures.

Diligence and persistence.

Overcoming obstacles.

Willingness to try new things.

Community bonding.

Kindness to animals.

And more…

Brad Yates is a superb storyteller and one of the most skillful and playful EFT practitioners I know. I highly recommend that you get his new book, The Wizard’s Wish, on August 18th by going to The Wizard’s Wish Website. Go ahead, and put some magic into a child’s life!

Before I go any further, get into the feeling and spirit of it all by watching and listening to Playing for Change, “Stand By Me.” You might want to do some EFT tapping along with it. You’ll feel great.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=Us-TVg40ExM

Last summer, one of the gems we watched from Spiritual Cinema Circle was previewing, “Playing for Change: Peace Through Music.” A powerful, uplifting move. Playing for Change is a multimedia movement created to inspire, connect, and bring peace to the world through music. What’s amazing is that the performances from Stand By Me were videotaped at 12 different locations throughout the world. The video and music from these 12 separate performances were then beautifully edited together. Here’s another one you’ll enjoy, One Love.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xjPODksI08

And, one more — Don’t Worry.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAjFnJuk1Aw

Today, April 28th, is a landmark day because after four years of filming and recording musicians around the globe, Playing For Change: Songs around the World is released and available. It’s a 10 song CD and 7 track DVD with songs and videos featuring over 100 musicians from around the world that have never met in person, but have been brought together through the power of music. If you want to get a copy of it today, Starbucks has it or you can purchase it online from Playing for Change.
Also visit the Playing for Change Foundation.

EFT and music are catalysts for uniting people all over the world and helping create healing. Let’s get together and feel all right.

I discovered EFT by “accident.” In 2001, I was a stressed out business executive. My youngest daughter was dealing with the challenges of high school — all the studying, tests, peer pressure, and difficulties of growing up. At the same time, my father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. These factors jolted me into being motivated to find alternatives to prescription drugs. That’s when I was fortunate to find EFT. Plus, I came up with an unusual idea that helped lift their spirits.

Although I was busy traveling during the week, I wanted a way to show I was thinking about my daughter and father. I focused on how I might show I cared about their well-being. As an action minded person, I decided to create a book of affirming thoughts and empowering questions. It was called MindSigns Personal Billboards. MindSigns was published as a large book of affirmation signs people could tear out and post in visible places around the house to stay in a positive state of mind. At the time, the book was printed in black-and-white because the printing technology then was too expensive to do in full color. That’s all changed.

About six months ago, I woke up one morning and decided to turn MindSigns into full color greeting cards. The idea was to offer people a way to encourage someone they care about by sending an affordable gift not once but up to 52 times a year, automatically. After doing our test marketing, the product is now available. We’ve had a very enthusiastic response. You can learn more about MindSigns Personal Billboards, including viewing all 52 designs, at our new Website. Just zip on over to www.mindsigns.com

Note: It’s all done automatically. There are no cards to pick or messages to write inside. We do it all for you, including the creation, printing, stuffing, stamping and mailing each week. And each gift greeting card indicates it’s from you. You can send MindSigns cards to anyone anywhere in the world.

Take a look. Let me know what you think.

A few years ago I sent a Vermont Teddy Bear as a gift to a friend to cheer her up. It was cool. She loved it. Now there’s another kind of bear that makes a great gift. It’s an interactive, practical gift that teaches EFT for cheering someone up or helping them deal with all kinds of other emotional concerns. In particular, it a wonderful gift for kids. I bought a couple of TappyBears when they were introduced in 2007. I sent one to my niece’s daughter who had trouble falling asleep. It’s her best buddy now. Helping kids learn EFT an an early age can prevent unresolved issues from carrying over into later years.

TappyBear is a cuddly teddy bear that has buttons on it which show the EFT Shortcut tapping points. Each TappyBear includes an embroidered cotton bag for easy storage and convenient transport. TappyBear was developed by Till Schilling’s daughters, Maria Christina and Anna Daniela.

TappyBear has come a long way since it was introduced because there are now other complementary products. Tap Along with Tappy is a playful way to teach EFT to children. It includes both a DVD and CD. The DVD is divided into two tracks and a total of eight parts. The first five parts include finding the tapping spots, the tapping song, and tapping along with TappyBear on two different issues.

Dr. Patricia Carrington does the voiceover instructions accompanied by Joanne Adler singing and Ben Blakesley on guitar. If you want to teach young children how to do EFT, it’s important to keep it simple and repetitive. The song is an easy one for kids to learn, and Dr. Carrington taps along at both slow and high speeds. The short instructions included are important to getting the most out of the package.

While the DVD/CD combo is a nice introduction to Tappy and EFT, the book, A Guide to TappyBear, provides more in-depth ways to use Tappy. The guide is also authored by Dr. Carrington and has the “how to” information you need. At just under 100 pages, you can breeze through the book in short order. The guide includes chapters on how Tappy works with children, using Tappy in a medical setting, and TappyBear for adults.

While, you’ll be happy just ordering Tappy alone, I recommend you get the TappyBear Instruction System because it includes Tappy, the guide and the DVD/CD. This way, you’ll get maximum value out of TappyBear. If you’ve got kids, grandkids, nieces, nephews or children you care about, getting them a TappyBear as a gift is an investment in their well-being. It’s a fine way to teach EFT to kids of all ages using a lovable bear. By the way, TappyBear lives all over the world in countries like Australia, Chile, Europe, India, Japan, New Zealand, and South Africa.

This post is an update to one I wrote in 2006 about the "Holiday Blues." Around this time of year do you get the Holiday Blues? Think orange. On the color wheel, orange is the opposite of blue. Orange increases oxygen supply to the brain, stimulates mental activity and produces an invigorating effect. Orange includes the energy of red and the happiness of yellow. Orange is associated with sunshine and joy. It represents enthusiasm, happiness, fascination, creativity, determination, attraction, encouragement, stimulation and success. Orange is symbolic of endurance and strength. It's the color of basketballs, carrots, yams, pumpkin pie and oranges. And don't forget the Orange Bowl football game. This Hanukkah or Christmas, turn your holidays orange or any color but blue.
Let’s start with these articles on ways you can use EFT and energy methods:

Here other general articles you may find that help:

And these videos:

Healthy Action Minute on Holiday Blues by Dr. Josh Klapow

Lastly, a good technique I use is to get amused or amazed by something. For example, there’s the humorous Santa Claus and The 12 Pains of Christmas by JibJab, plus the dogged one, Bailey the Unknown Reindeer. This holiday season, dump the blues. Jump into the color orange.

Knock, knock.

Who’s there?

Orange.

Orange who?

Orange you so glad you read this?

In March of 2008, Gary Craig and other EFT experts spent five days helping PTSD ridden military veterans in San Francisco to introduce them to EFT. Gary just released a 20 minute segment. Please watch it. Note that in capturing the candor of these veterans, there are a couple of profanities mentioned. A psychologist and psychiatrist also participated and make comments about the efficacy of EFT. This is an impressive video to watch because EFT offers great hope in helping to heal the trauma of our military veterans and their families. You can view it online at EFT Universe. Please share this video with people you know who might benefit from seeing it.

Recently, a friend of ours was taking care of her two grandsons, aged three and eighteen months. The youngest child had difficulty settling in and going to sleep. My friend used EFT to help her grandson fall sleep. The first night it took five minutes of tapping. The second night two minutes, and the third night only 30 seconds. After being successful at it, the next night her husband tried it. It didn’t work. Why not?

Because before my friend walked into the room to do tapping with her grandchild, she did EFT on herself to make sure she was calm and relaxed. She wasn’t trying to put her grandchild to sleep. She was just being in the moment tapping away and allowing it to happen. Her husband wanted to “make” his grandson go to sleep.

I like what Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer, says — “It’s all about the energy.” Dogs can sense your energy or vibration and so can children. The key is to be calm and assertive. A child won’t fall asleep if there’s uptight, tense energy in the room. So the first step is to calm and center yourself using techniques like EFT and slow, conscious breathing. Here’s how my friend acted as a catalyst to help her grandson fall asleep.

First, she quietly walked into the room where the child was standing up in the crib. She eased him down on his back, smiled at him and without saying a word started gently tapping on the EFT points, beginning with the top of the head and tapping on the face, torso and finger points. She kept doing rounds of tapping continuing to smile as she did. As she tapped on the head, she would stop and check if the child had fallen asleep. If not, she would continue tapping until her grandson looked like he had fallen asleep. Then slowly she would take one step backwards out of the room and stop. She did this quietly step by step.

If you have a child that has difficulty going to sleep at night, try this method and modify it to discover what works best for you. Remember, the first step is being calm yourself.
