EFT & Positive Deviants

November 14, 2007

Many lay people and professionals haven’t explored EFT and other energy healing modalities because they’re waiting for scientific evidence and research. They want more “social proof.” Yet, go to the EFT Website and you can read hundreds of articles of how professionals and everyday people have used EFT to resolve all kinds of physical and emotional issues. Just how long is long enough to wait? Most likely, you’d be better off being a positive deviant today.

Phantom Limb Pain

October 30, 2007

In the October 25 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, a businessman in a suit is in the emergency room claiming his shaking left foot doesn’t belong to him. It’s driving him crazy, and he wants a surgeon to amputate his foot. Instead, he gets a psychological evaluation and some anxiety medication. That doesn’t satisfy him so he gets a chainsaw and tries to amputate his foot. Later, a doctor successfully completes the surgery. What if his foot sensations didn’t go away? About 50 percent to 80 percent of amputees experience “phantom limb” feelings in their amputated limb. Quite often the sensations are very painful. Can EFT help alleviate phantom limb pain?

Cleaning Up the BUTs

September 28, 2007

Years ago, after reading books on Gestalt Therapy by psychiatrist, Fritz Perls, I learned that one of the most powerful things I could do was make a very simple change in my language. Specifically, change the word “but” to “and.” For example, take the sentence, “I want to be understanding, BUT I don’t feel like it.” Now, simply change it to, “I want to be understanding, AND I don’t feel like it. Say both sentences and notice the difference in how you feel. Using the conjunction “but” makes both phrases or thoughts incompatible, “erasing” the first one. Changing to the word “and” is inclusive, allowing both to co-exist. Be conscious of using the word “but.” And now, Grant Connolly, creator of the ZPoint Process has an excellent article for you about Cleaning up the BUTs.

Shining the Spotlight on Phillip Mountrose

September 17, 2007

Although Gary Craig, the founder of EFT, says that no one doing EFT is ever asked to follow any specific spiritual teaching, Gary does say, “I do come at this procedure from a decidedly spiritual perspective.” So, what if you’re doing EFT and want to use it as a tool to go deeper in your spiritual life? Then you’ll want to know about Phillip and Jane Mountrose. Their focus is on using powerful state-of-the-art methods for holistic healing and connecting more deeply and soulfully with yourself.

Oxygen Eyes

August 23, 2007

Did you know that your eyes are oxygen processors and need a lot of oxygen to stay healthy and comfortable? As you age, particularly between 35 and 50, you need more energy to focus your eyes for reading. And, contrary to making people more productive, computers may do just the opposite. Computer vision stress causes people to see less, do less and be generally less efficient. Instead of reading with a light reflecting off a fixed page, with a computer the light is constantly flashing to a beat frequency of 60 Hz. Also, right now, there is a constant muscle spasm as your eyes search for the fonts on your computer screen. In your health regimen, don’t overlook your eyes. The key to improved vision is relearning relaxed vision habits. Do everything you can to keep your eyes flexible and strong. Let me tell you about one of the most fascinating EFT videos.
