Tapping Into Your Dreams

Jul 11, 05 Tapping Into Your Dreams

Do you remember your dreams? Normally, when I wake up in the morning I don’t. If I wake up in the middle of sleeping, I do. Often, I keep a notepad by my bed to write down my dream(s) upon waking. Years ago, I took a dream workshop. One of the things we learned to do was set our alarm clocks to wake up in the middle of the night. While I was still in a drowsy state, I’d tape record or write down whatever I was dreaming. Afterwards, I’d explore understanding what my dream was communicating to me. The whole subject of dreams is fascinating.

The other morning when I woke up, I didn’t remember the specifics of my dream. Vaguely, it was about being a kid on the playground at school. I was about eight years old. I did remember the feelings I had so I decided to use EFT with my dream. Here are the setup phrases I used:

Even though I made a mistake …
Even though, I felt left out …
Even though I didn’t fit in …
Even though I felt like being on the outside looking in …

… I deeply and complete accept myself.

Then, for some reason, another setup statement came to me and I went with it. What happened was interesting and surprised me.

Even though this dream makes no sense to me, I honor what my subconscious mind is communicating to me.

When I did EFT with this setup phrase, I felt tears well up in my eyes. It was a good, solid feeling. I don’t know how to explain it, but it was if some memory or feeling was “erased.” I felt like something had definitely changed even though I wasn’t conscious of what it was. You might want to try tapping into your dreams with this setup phrase.

If you’re interested in using EFT with your dreams (or nightmares) be sure to read these excellent articles by two well-respected EFT practitioners. The first article is by Dr. David Lake. It’s titled, Using EFT for Dreamwork. Also read the article by Rick Wilkes, When You Wake-Up from a Nightmare, Use EFT.

In the meantime, dream on.
