Whoopi Goldberg Tapping
Whoopi Goldberg hasn’t flown on an airplane for 12 years. Now she’s flying to London to work on the stage production of Sister Act. Recently, Whoopi did a segment on The View television program where personnel from Virgin Atlantic airlines’ Flying Without Fear course helped Whoppi deal with her fear of flying. As you watch, about 5:45 into the segment a psychologist starts talking about Thought Field Therapy (TFT) which is a tapping technique.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) evolved from TFT and uses similar principles but with TFT students need to learn 10 or 15 different tapping routines called algorithms. Each algorithm covers a specific issue such as trauma, phobias, depression, etc . Anything not covered by those individual routines requires a diagnostic process. EFT simplifies things by only using one comprehensive tapping routine to cover all issues — not just 10 or 15 — and doesn’t require a diagnosis.
If you have a fear of flying, and many people do, be sure to check out the World Center for EFT and search for “fear of flying.” You’ll find several articles to help you.
