EFT for Smarties

Apr 26, 09 EFT for Smarties

On page 263 of Helena Fone’s book, Emotional Freedom Technique for Dummies, there’s a cartoon captioned, “I learned EFT from my uncle, and he should know. He was a Morse code operator during World War II.”  Spiced with some lighthearted cartoons, large headlines, visual icons, check points, and sidebars, the book’s format and content make Emotional Freedom Technique for Dummies an easy, enjoyable read. It’ll make a valuable addition to your library.

The book was published back in September, 2008 in the UK. Amazon indicated it would be available in the USA in November. I checked in several bookstores and only recently was able to order a copy from Amazon. I suggest getting a copy of Helena’s book because it’s packed with valuable information on EFT for both beginners and people who have been doing EFT for a long time.

The nice thing about the Dummies book series is that the publisher and editors recognize the need for an appealing, reader-friendly format. Research indicates that most readers do not get past page 18 if a book doesn’t grab them, so a lot of books go unread. This one will hold your interest all the way through to the back cover.

Emotional Freedom Technique for Dummies is divided into five parts:

  1. The Path to Emotional Freedom
  2. Venturing Further with EFT
  3. Finding Your Way to Inner Happiness
  4. Applying EFT to Physical Issues
  5. Exploring Other Avenues

You don’t need to read Emotional Freedom Technique for Dummies in a linear fashion. It’s important to dive into the first two parts of the book to get a handle on how to do EFT. After that, go right to whatever issue you might like to do with EFT. Helena covers a wide variety of ways to use EFT. For example, if you want to improve a relationship, there’s a whole chapter on relationships. The book also includes using EFT for phobias, anxieties, trauma, stress, cravings, addictions, healing the body and more. If you’re a parent, you’ll especially appreciate the chapter on using EFT with children.

If you’re a beginner to EFT, you’ll find just what you need:

  • A brief history of TFT, EFT and energy meridians
  • The basic routine of EFT and how to do it
  • How you can use EFT for different emotional and physical issues
  • Identifying and working with aspects
  • How to identify your your core issues
  • Selecting the right EFT setup statements or phrases
  • What the movie technique and tearless trauma method are

The book also briefly touches upon other therapies that harmonize with EFT. Helena Fone’s Emotional Freedom Technique for Dummies makes a smart reference book for you now and in the future. If you’d also like to know more about Helena Fone visit her Website at http://www.therapy4me.co.uk/.
