You’re Beyond Compare
One of the most effective ways to feel lousy about yourself is to compare yourself to other people. When I was a kid, I was in the Boy Scouts. My older brother was a patrol leader. The patrol leader is responsible for organizing, motivating, and managing his patrol which is five to ten boys. I was the assistant patrol leader. My brother had an authoritarian leadership style which was effective for him. He eventually got promoted to senior patrol leader and I was bumped up to patrol leader. I emulated his bossy leadership style. It completely bombed. Later, I discovered that my leadership style was more collaborative. When it comes to who you are and what you do, you’re beyond compare.
